Barnyard millet is also called kuthiraivali arisi / rice in Tamil mainly grows in Uttaranchal, India. Grown as wild seed and is the fastest grains to grow up. It can produce rice within 45 days. There are other names for kuthiraivali rice like Sanwa in Hindi, Shyama in Bengal, and Oodalu in Canada. Kudiraivali grains are consumed just like rice. They are also used in making rice pudding (kheer).
